Enhancing That Special Part Of Your Body. (Your brain) What were you thinking of?
|
1. "Use It or Lose It".
Appreciate your brain's beauty as a living and constantly
developing lush living organism with billions of neurons and
synapses.
2. Take care of your nutrition.
You brain only weighs 2% of body mass but consumes over
20% of the oxygen and nutrients you take in.
3. The brain is part of your body.
Doing things that exercise your body also help your brain:
Physical exercise enhances neurogenesis.
4. Practice gratefulness and positive thinking.
Start and end every day by listing 5 things you are grateful for.
Stress and anxiety actually kills neurons and prevents the
creation of new ones.
5. Give your brain something to do.
Developing and maintaining a healthy brain requires that you
use it. Just like a tennis racket - if you stick it in a closet and let
it get dusty you might as well not even own one.
6. Direct your brain to work for you as your friend.
Your brain and it's habitual patterns of thinking is determined
by you. Surprisingly gratefulness is one of the best things both
physically and emotionally for your brain.
Multiple studies have shown that simply writing down 5 things a
day you are grateful for improves overall memory and brain
function. Studies show that practicing this surpasses zoloft,
and it's free and has no side affects.
7. Expose yourself to new ideas and places.
Adapting to new information and situations forces you to pay
more attention to your environment.
8. Think for yourself.
Spend some quiet time just thinking. Read a poem. Meditate.
Ask yourself 'What do I really think about this?'
9. Socialize and have good friends.
Human interaction is good for you.
10. She who laughs, lasts.
Laugh a lot, as much as you can. Inundate yourself with funny.
